From above the ground, irrigation looks pretty simple, heads pop out of the ground and splash some water around for a bit, then disappear in the ground again. There is, however, so much that needs to happen before we can get to that point. It’s all the things that you don't see that make all the difference! It is the head layout, nozzle selection, precipitation rates, pipe and wire networks, control systems, zone run times, evapotranspiration rates, microclimates, water availability, the list goes on. All these things should be considered and factored in long before the shovels come off the truck. So how do we get to that point?
